The Los Alamos Community Winds invites the community to our Mozart ‘s 270th Birthday Celebration, March 9-14, 2026, featuring Guest Soloist and Lecturer Dr. Marie Ross from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. The event includes performances throughout the week of period music, movie screenings, lectures and a master class. and concludes with a gala concert performance of the music of Mozart on Saturday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Crossroads Bible Church in Los Alamos, NM.

The week of March 9-14, 2026 is being designated as Mozart Week in Los Alamos to celebrate the 270th birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The Los Alamos Community Winds is sponsoring a week-long series of events and performances, culminating with a Gala Concert on March 14, 7:00pm, at Crossroads Bible Church. The concert will feature as a special guest clarinet soloist and Mozart scholar, Dr. Marie Ross. In addition to Mozart classics such as the Overture to The Marriage of Figaro, the concert will also include a humorous PDQ Bach arrangement of A Little Night Music.

Events in the week leading up to the concert will include :

• A clarinet recital and Mozart lecture by Dr. Marie Ross at Fuller Lodge,
• Mozart-themed movies, including Amadeus, at SALA,
• Noon time performances by local ensembles, and
• A clarinet master-class taught by Dr. Ross
